The challenge, when painting outdoors, is to capture the rapidly changing light. I know I must cover the panel quickly and accurately so I don't focus on details or exact shapes but on the masses. Fired up with adrenaline, it is a mental and physical workout to paint knowing that the light will change in a flash. I paint with a limited palette of a warm and cool of each of the three primary colors, plus titanium white.
I grew up in the Pasadena area of California and attended UCLA. After graduating with a BA in graphic design, I worked in the creative department for graphic design and advertising firms in Los Angeles. For the past 18 years I have lived in Seattle with my husband Michael and our two growing boys.
This site is dedicated to my parents who always encouraged and nurtured my interest in art. If you are interested in purchasing an original artwork, please email me at blowegeri[at]msn dot com for price and availability.
